The Cherry Blossom String Quartet(CBSQ) is composed of talented alumni and students of The George Washington University(GWU). Founded in 1989, CBSQ was established by four GWU Presidential Arts Scholarship students. Since then, it has performed various functions around the Washington Metropolitan Area. Many of these include: The Smithsonian Associates, The United States Capitol Building.

The National Federation of Small Independent Businesses Convention, The National Museum for Women of the Arts, The First Annual Road Victim Remembrance Day, The Century 21 Campaign Fund-raising of The George Washington University, and numerous social functions requested by the President of the GWU. CBSQ also participates in the GWU Music Department's highly competitive Student Honors Recital every year.
